Our Hybrid Online X-Ray Tech Limited Medical Radiography with Medical Assisting program is specifically designed to offer you the flexibility of online classes while still focusing on the benefit of hands-on training in our on campus labs.
The Limited Radiography with Medical Assisting program prepares students for certifications in X-ray and Medical Assisting with one convenient Associate level program.
Under the direction of experienced and credentialed staff, students will participate in both classroom and hands-on laboratory study of x-ray and patient care procedures.
Students will learn the specialized skills of a Limited Medical Radiographer such as:
- setting up and operating the X-ray machine
- positioning the patient for procedures
- calculating the dosage of radiation needed to create a quality x-ray for the physician
In addition to being trained and certified in the field of Limited Medical Radiography, you will also learn the hands-on patient care skills necessary to become a certified Medical Assistant.
The Limited Medical Radiography with Medical Assisting program is approved by the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (KBMIRT). Graduates are eligible to take the Kentucky Limited Radiography certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and the Certified Medical Assistant Certification (CMA) offered through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
